Thirteen students, along with two chaperones, travel to Belize during spring break for a week of service work and cultural exchange activities on the island of Caye Caulker. Milton has a long-standing relationship with Ocean Academy, the only high school on this small island off the coast from Belize City. For several years, the community service program at Milton has been helping with building repairs and working to add a library, greenhouse, and additional classrooms to the facility. After the daytime work of mixing cement, painting and hammering, Milton’s volunteers get to know the Cape Caulker students through family home visits, dinners, game nights and sports activities. The students will also have a chance to explore the beauty of Belize with a day of snorkeling in the island waters.
