exchange-programParents of Class III students have the opportunity to learn more about the exchange programs offered through Milton’s modern languages department on Saturday of Parents’ Weekend. These immersive programs allow students to grow in their language skills while appreciating the culture and daily life of another country.

On Saturday, October 26, from 10:30–11:30 a.m., Class III parents can attend sessions in Ware Hall about the French exchange (Room 300), the Spanish exchange (Room 309), the Chinese exchange (Room 312), and School Year Abroad (Room 304). The three exchange programs all include visits by students from partner schools—Milton boarding students find local families to host. School Year Abroad is a full-year study abroad program administered by an accredited outside network.

The French exchange is a partnership between Milton and Le Lycée Georges Duby, Aix en Provence, France. Milton students and families spend two weeks in April hosting a student from the Lycée, and Milton students travel to France to stay with that student’s family in May/June.

The Spanish exchange is a partnership between Milton and Colegio el Pilar in Madrid. Milton students host their Spanish counterparts in September and travel to Spain in June.

The Chinese exchange pairs Milton students with students from the No. 2 High School of East China Normal University in Shanghai. Chinese students arrive in the United States in mid-January, and Milton students travel to China in late May.
