Milton’s Nesto Gallery presents Fractured Tales, a group of paintings and collages by artist Howard Lerner.
“Lerner’s works are narratives that are not always linear,” says Nesto Gallery Director Larry Pollans. “That means that we don’t immediately know why the accordion player has a cat at his feet or why there are two serpents surrounding a woman holding her child. Lerner glues bits and pieces of old record covers from ’78 albums to build his pictures. The images are mysterious and intriguing. They draw us in, even if we don’t know exactly what the message is.”
Fractured Tales will run through December 14 in the Nesto Gallery. Located on the lower level of the Art and Media Center, the exhibit is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
