Senior Showcase Raffle tickets available

Support Class I students’ fundraising efforts by purchasing Senior Showcase raffle tickets. Prizes include tickets to Bruins and Celtics games, lunch with Head of School Todd Bland, and the ever-popular reserved Ware Loop parking spot! The raffle will take place during the annual Showcase talent show on February 3, but tickets will be available at games and through an online link emailed to parents in the weeks before. They can be charged to your child’s IA account. Proceeds defray the cost of prom for the students.

Class II Dinner/College Weekend

Kick off your Class II student’s official college search with the Class II Dinner for parents, to be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, January 5, in the Robert Saltonstall Gym. Deb Shaver, the director of admission at Smith College, will be the featured speaker. On Saturday morning, Joy St. John, dean of admission and financial aid at Wellesley College, will speak at the college counseling office presentation. “These are two very dynamic and experienced leaders in the college admission community,” said Rod Skinner, director of college counseling. “We are thrilled they can join us.”

Help needed for Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day

Each year, parents show their appreciation for all the efforts of Milton’s faculty and staff by hosting a day of food and prizes. The day begins with a delicious breakfast in a creatively transformed Straus Library, and includes a raffle, several chances to win assorted prizes donated by parents, and a fabulous themed luncheon cooked and served by parents. This year, it will be held on Wednesday, February 7.

We need your help. If you live locally, we hope you will volunteer to decorate, cook, serve, or clean up. No matter where you live, you can donate a raffle item or make a monetary donation. A “Sign-Up Genius” link will be sent out shortly with needed activities. In the meantime, we will also be collecting raffle items. Ones that have been popular include weekend getaways, professional sports tickets, theater or concert tickets, and gift certificates to dinner or local retail establishments. But donations of any kind are welcome, including monetary ones to purchase gift items. Please contact co-chairs Jeannie Peters at jm_peters@comcast.net or Veronica Geroukos at veronicageroukos@gmail.com to make a donation, or with any questions. Thank you in advance for your help and generosity.
