The boys’ varsity soccer team had another strong season (12-3-3), finishing in fourth place in the ISL. Led by team captains Will Goldberg (I), Brandon Jones (I) and Adam Kulick (I), the team continued a tradition of high quality play and sportsmanship. The final ISL game of the season was against Nobles, and despite consistent pressure from Nobles, Milton countered effectively and won the game 5-1. This qualified Milton for the Class A New England Tournament and they traveled to play No. 2 seed Loomis Chaffee on their home field. It was a close and competitive game, but Milton ended up losing 2-1.
“It was an exciting and well-played game from both teams and the Milton squad played with incredible heart, determination, togetherness and resilience,” said Coach Chris Kane. “It was an excellent ending to a fantastic season for the Mustangs.”
After the soccer season ended, The New England Soccer Journal named Jeremy Verley (II) as one of the top midfielders in New England. Jeremy, who played for the Jamaican U-17 national team last summer, scored seven goals and had three assists for Milton this year.
