Students are encouraged to download MiltonConnect, a smartphone app that will provide a full slate of activities from the Student Activities Office and from student clubs and organizations across the School.

The app is supported by CampusGroups, a platform Milton began using in 2020–2021 to centralize activities, said Student Activities Director Kelly Reiser.

“Last year, it was hard to launch, and we weren’t able to spend much time with the curators of the information,” she said, referencing the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. With everyone learning on campus this year, the Student Activities Office will encourage more active use of the app. “We’ll be adding weekly posts and polls, fun things for students to do to engage in the platform.”

In the first few weeks of school, the Student Activities Office will be hosting a variety of events for all students including a back-to-school carnival on Friday, September 10, and a lawn party on Saturday, September 11. Later in September, the office is planning a game night, a campus scavenger hunt, and the open-mic Beatnik Café hosted by the student publication Magus/Mabus.

Reiser plans to work with the Performing Arts Department to streamline ticketing for events through the app. In addition, students will eventually be able to use MiltonConnect to schedule meetings with key members of the Upper School administration.
