Milton’s annual winter concerts are feasts for all music lovers. This weekend in King Theatre you can come once or twice to hear top-notch programs and performers.

Friday, December 11, at 7:30 p.m. Milton vocalists take the stage. Enjoy an evening with several of Milton’s premier musical groups: Chamber Singers, Gospel Choir and Glee Club. Students will perform a broad program that includes both classical favorites and more contemporary selections from various traditions. The Gospel Choir, singing the Kryie and Agnus Dei from Shubert’s Mass in G Major, features many student vocal and instrumental soloists: Dorsey Glew (III), soprano; Dalton Letorney (II), baritone; Julia Carabatsos (I) and Maggie Adedamola (III), violin; Ian Rhee (I), viola ; Benjamin Smith (I), cello; and Ainsley Iwanicki (II), bass. Nathan Strauss (II), baritone, is the soloist for the piece, Shalom Rav.

Sunday, December 13, at 4 p.m. orchestral musicians are the performers. Enjoy selections and brilliant solos from Milton’s Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra. David Jones (I) will perform the oboe solo for Benedetto Marcello’s Concerto for Oboe; and Julia Carabatsos (I) is the solo violinist for the Mozart, Violin Concerto #5. Faculty member Kathy Dregalla is the solo bassoonist for “The Bear With The Sore Head” by Julius Fucik.

Milton’s musicians rehearse in the orchestra room for this weekend’s winter concerts.
